The Gallery
Works are in the following loose categories: Abstract, Sky Land abs, Portrait, Sea Side, Photography. Click on the thumb nails for blow-up.

Colour
I have tried to get a close resemblance of the colour of the original works, however, they will be different as I use different and more primary paint colours to those used on screen and in photography.

Art
To those who feel they know nothing about art - probably the lucky ones - all you need to know - to be open to - is what you like and what you don't like, and be prepared to change your mind. Sometimes the painting you immediately love, fades into insignificance after living with it, whereas one that you initially don't like so much, becomes a real gem. Some things need to challenge us, so I find. What do you really like. Does the painting do something for you. Some work is inspirational, I find. That is important for me.

Art is in the eye of the beholder - old and hackneyed, never the less, true. Art is so universal, it cannot be adequately explained. Thou art. You can start there, if you wish. To be. To create. And there is the art in everything - the right way for the individual..

With my painting I used to think everything I did had to be different - new every time. In a way I still do, but there came a time when I was surrounded by my work and I saw in a moment that it was all me - nothing but me - unmistakably me, like I had a huge hand print across everything I had done. It was a relief, really. I found myself relaxing more, not having to TRY to be different. I could let it happen more readily.

Portraiture . .

My main interest now is portraiture. It gives me good reason to get out and about and to interact with people. It has become a real buzz for me. I've heard artists rave on about the artist and the study - the artist in the painting - the artist in the painting of someone else. I don't particularly enjoy artists raving on about their work, and here I am at it, I suppose. There is something quite spooky, however, about this portraiture thing, and that's part of the buzz, for me - who is this I am looking at, I wonder, as the image emerges. And I must admit I have had the occasion when I've felt I was looking at myself. For what it's worth?!

Hope you get something from the photos of my work.
I love doing commissioned works, so do contact me if you have something you'd like done. And I look forward to any comments or queries you may have.

Cheers
